ATURA STAYCATION

Western Sydney is full of amazing places to stay. We were lucky enough to be invited to spend a weekend enjoying all there is to offer at Atura Hotel in Blacktown. Being one of our favourite hotels, we love walking into the space, feeling as if we’ve been transported into 1950s Palm Springs.

Located on Cricketer Arms, Atura Blacktown is positioned right next to the M5, being a convenient stopover if you’re travelling regionally. The rooms at Atura have been specially designed to maximise the space provided for guests. You’re met with the industrial vibe of the hotel as soon as you walk into the lobby, and this continues as you walk into your room.

We stayed in the Entertainers room, which was the perfect size to relax with friends. The décor and layout of the space is very far from your stock standard hotel. With cool amenities and features, we felt right at home, relaxed and well-rested!

For dinner, if you want to stay local, you can choose from either the in-house restaurant, The Roadhouse Bar & Grill, or head next door to The Royal Cricketers Arms Hotel. The first night, we treated ourselves to the Roadhouse Bar & Grill and let us tell you, it’s not your average hotel restaurant. Serving up dishes such as hand-formed burrata, hummus & flatbread, as well as classics such as parmi’s and fish and chips, you’re sure to find something here for everyone. Along with the extensive food menu, grab yourself something from their drinks section. Whether it be one of their many cocktail options, tap beer or extensive wines on their wine list, you’ll find something to pair with your meal or simply just to enjoy.

After waking up refreshed the next morning, head down and laze by the pool. The pool is one of the key features of the property, we spent a few hours simply relaxing and enjoying the space!

After building an appetite, either head over to The Royal Cricketers Arms, or, if it happens to be a Sunday, head over to Chu Restaurant by China Doll at WEST HQ for their Yum Cha Special. A 20 Minute drive from the hotel, you’ll arrive at WEST HQ and be stunned by the space!

Heading into Chu Restaurant, you’ll notice the 1930s atmosphere. On Sundays they run their special Yum Cha menu featuring items such as dumplings, crispy egg plant, duck pancakes, and pork belly. The food here is truly phenomenal, and so is the atmosphere. Be sure to get in quick as the Yum Cha often books out!
