The WEST Journal seeks out and celebrates the most amazing locations in Western Sydney and beyond. When we first discovered WEST HQ, we knew straight away that this was a destination that needed to be explored and boy, did it meet and exceed all our expectations. Based in Rooty Hill, the scale and quality of offerings ticks all the boxes for travel, food and culture.
We were lucky enough to check out Chu Restaurant by China Doll (yes, you heard correctly). This is a beautifully designed space serving up premium and ethically sourced produce with a modern take on culinary traditions from China, Hong Kong, Japan and South-East Asia.
The space transports you back to 1940s Shanghai with glamourous furnishings and table settings. Although a large space, dining at a table couldn’t feel more intimate and luxurious thanks to the furnishings and accessories within the space.
Choose to dine A La Carte with a wonderful selection of favourites on the menu, or be treated to the banquet menu, which is sure to satisfy. Yum Cha is set to commence on Sunday the 7th of November featuring some of their classic dishes.
The Chefs table is the centrepiece of the restaurant. With space for over 18 diners, the table makes for the perfect location for a celebration or birthday dinner.
Located adjacent to the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, CHU by China Doll is the perfect destination to visit before seeing a show. WEST HQ also features a Novotel and is set to open a Pullman Hotel in the mid 2020s. With all this in mind, WEST HQ is a destination in and of itself. It can be found at the Apex of the M4 and M7, and believe us, you’re not going to want to skip out on this one!
