Magnificent MAGENTA SHORES Staycation MUST DO

Pullman Magenta Shores Resort resides on the Aboriginal Land of the Darkinjung people. Magenta Shores would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land upon which we live and work and pay our respects to the customs lore, history and practices of the ancient people of this land.

Part of the Accor Group Located just 90 minutes from Sydney and only 20 minutes north of Terrigal, Pullman Magenta Shores Resort is an exceptional golf, spa and corporate retreat offering premium apartment style accommodation and a unique beachfront setting delivering exceptional weddings, conferences and events on the Central Coast, NSW. WEST was lucky enough to be invited to enjoy a staycation weekend, sampling the delights, beauty and surrounds of this world glass destination.

The Central Coast is a beautiful part of NSW visited by many. For golfers this resort is a dream, with a mix of homes and accommodation you can enjoy any time of the year. Its hugely family friendly and the perfect base to explore and do your own Central Coast Wandering.

We arrived for our check-in and were met by the very friendly team. The reception building hosts a restaurant, bar and Day spa as well as an indoor pool and spaces for events. Golfers have the opportunity for a round of gold right next door in the golf shop. You can’t miss it; the luxury buggies are right outside.

Once checked-in make your way to your apartment, with parking right out front. The landscapes within the grounds of the resort are second to none and immediately you know and feel you are on holiday. Such a beautiful place to wander through and explore morning, noon and night. The grounds include direct access to the beach, two tennis courts and the most superb swimming pools – yes pools. We were perched looking right over the Lagoon Pool, with the ever sense of privacy this resort affords.

After settling in, and a quick cheeky dip in the pool, wander up through the village like feel of the resort accommodation to Barrett’s Restaurant. We indulged in three courses of Contemporary Australian Cuisine. Magnificent seasonal share plates, a huge cob of garlic bread, the most incredible Scoth Fillet and a great bottle of wine to accompany it. You dine overlooking a beautiful lake with the golf course manicured landscape in the background. This is a magical place and the perfect place to just sit, talk and share with family and loved ones.

The chef popped out to meet the crew from WEST and share his passion for seasonality, great quality and of course to see what we loved the most. That’s a hard one to answer as everything was so good. Dessert was of course incredible and a must have. We naturally tried everything on offer and a perfect way to end a perfect meal. Book ahead as this is a very popular place for locals and visitors alike to come to. Very family friendly too.

Magenta Shores is nestled in some beautiful natural landscape and close to both The Entrance, Long Jetty, Nora Heads and Budgewoi. If you are planning on heading out after dinner, you have so many options. Check out Budgewoi Hotel of an evening, such a magical place with the most incredible light display in an enormous Fig tree out front. You can’t miss it, or head into The Entrance for a wander along the promenade.

Alternatively, you may just want, after such a delicious meal, to enjoy a beverage or two in Shallows Bar, located right next to Barrett’s Restaurant. Again, you will find this bar full of locals and guests and the options seem endless. Like all great bars, it offers something for everyone. Watch a game, enjoy the banter and hospitality of the Pullman Team.

The following morning, before making our way out and about, we grabbed breakfast in the resort. Buffet style, the chef made omelettes to order are the essential way to start the day. With the morning sun shining over the Golf Course, and with keen golfers already out on the driving range, you get a sense of quite disconnection from the rest of the world.

For a little adventure, head on up to Nora Heads and the iconic Lighthouse. This is great little morning stroll and the perfect vantage spot to see just how beautiful our coastline is in this part of the world. After a morning stroll, and of course a local cup of coffee, we had the good luck to have been booked into VIE SPA. Another amazing must do in Pullman Magenta Shores Resort.

Freshly Zen from our morning walk, we were treated to 2 hours of relaxation, rejuvenation and therapeutic restoration of our mind body and soul. What can we say – make sure you book a treatment and do not miss it. Indulged with hot stone massages, dry body brushing hydrating cocoon, scrubs, massage and a scalp massage that you never wanted to end. This was unbelievable, just unbelievable. Nap, slow walk and just taking it easy by the pool is all you need and all you want to do after this luxury day spa experience.

Finally for some adventure, when reawakened of course from your serious R & R. First up is Tennis. Magenta Shores offers two sperate courts, you can hire tennis rackets and balls and make sure you book. Its popular and perfect for beginners of the serious players alike. Perfect fun for the kids if your out on the golf course for an hour or two.

For even more fun, grab one of the resorts e-bikes. Take the E-bikes to explore The Entrance, Tuggerah Lake or again over to Norah Head for the view from the lookout or down to the rock pool. Ask reception if you can grab a pair of binoculars – this is whale watching territory and during the season you will se them ambling up and down the coast.

With your E-bike you can explore the neighbouring Wyrrabolong National Park, its an easy, idyllic trip along a cycleway set back from the road. Every afternoon at 3:30 in The Entrance you can experience the Pelican feeding up close and personal. Magical, beautiful creatures that have been coming into say hi for years and years.  Another Must Do when visiting Pullman Magenta Shores Resort.

Finally, take a stroll along the sandy pathway to Magenta Beach for an afternoon of watching the waves crash along the shoreline. This feels like a private beach, with visitors seemingly only from the resort. Take a book, rest up, relax and wonder why you have never been here before. If you know you know, and visitors come back time and time again. What a great little weekend away, thank you Pullman Magenta Shores Resort. Your hospitality was just incredible. Make sure you do the same.
